William McDougall is a Politics lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences, Media and Journalism. His teaching commitment includes modules in Twentieth century British history and politics, Multi-level governance and covering the social sciences more broadly.

His PhD research was on an asbestos victims’ support group and he has interests in occupational health, pressure groups and multi-level governance. His most recent work has been on Scottish constitutional affairs. William also has an interest in sport. He has published articles in the journal of Scottish Labour History and Soccer and Society including in an edited book on left-wing influences and European football.

He received his undergraduate degree in Social Sciences at Glasgow Caledonian University and an MSc in History(t) at the University of Glasgow. He was awarded his PhD in 2013. He has also worked at Glasgow Caledonian University as an Academic Development Tutor with the Learning Development Centre in the Glasgow School for Business and Society
