Tim Hardie

Dr Tim Hardie is a Sport and Exercise Psychologist, chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). He is a graduate of the Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology (DPsych) programme at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), where he developed a strong foundation in applied psychological practice and research.

In February 2025, Dr Hardie joined the GCU staff as a Lecturer in Applied Psychology. He plays an active role in the delivery of both sport and applied psychology content, contributing across undergraduate and doctoral programmes. His teaching supports students in developing both theoretical knowledge and applied skills relevant to the discipline.

Dr Hardie's expertise and research interests span the fields of sport and performance psychology. His current work focuses on:

  • Mental performance enhancement
  • Meta-cognition and self-awareness in athletes and performers
  • Self-care strategies for sustained wellbeing
  • Systemic and organisational approaches to promoting wellbeing and performance across diverse organisations

Dr Hardie is passionate about fostering environments that encourage both individual excellence and collective wellbeing. He collaborates with colleagues and students alike to support innovation in psychological practice and research.
