Dr Stuart McChlery is a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Finance, Accounting and Risk. Stuart teaches in the field of accounting, covering all aspects of financial management at both postgraduate and undergraduate level.

Stuart submitted his thesis titled “A quantitative and qualitative analysis of voluntary oil and gas reserve reporting in the UK” in 2020. Stuart is an active researcher with research published in the areas of accounting education, oil and gas accounting, and risk disclosure.

Stuart worked in the accountancy profession for five years, within the external audit field. This experience heavily informs Stuart’s current teaching, where he focuses on guiding students to work to the accountancy profession’s standards. Stuart sits on a number of education committee panels for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
