Steven Latta is a Lecturer in the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment and teaches various programmes within the Department of Construction and Surveying, including the new MSc Oil and Gas suite programmes. He joined GCU in 2012 and has had a longer term association with GCU as an occasional tutor and external assessor. His experience is predominantly in industry and he is one of only a handful people in the UK who are dual-qualified as both a Chartered Surveyor and Solicitor. Steven holds undergraduate degrees in Land Economics and in Law as well as post-graduate qualifications in Local Economic Development and in Legal Practice. Prior to joining the University on a full-time basis he worked for more twenty years in property development and urban regeneration throughout Scotland with various private and public sector organisations. Steven has a particular interest in the law in as much as it regulates the Oil and Gas Industry and is currently enrolled on Robert Gordon University’s LLM in Oil and Gas Law.
