Stefan Vidler

Stefan Vidler is a Lecturer on the BA Fashion Design and Business and BA International Fashion Branding courses. Stefan teaches in the field of fashion design, fashion marketing and digital technologies, covering all aspects of fashion and technology at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels.

Stefan is currently completing his PhD at UAL - London College of Fashion, focusing on the use of computational design within a fashion design process, and drawing on architecture for theoretical underpinning. His research interests include fashion (theory, design, sustainability and marketing), technology (CAD, design technologies, immersive environments and AI) and futurism.

Stefan previously led the BA Fashion Design programmes at Istituto Marangoni London Senior consultant Lecturer of Fashion Design on both the BA and MA design courses.

Stefan has held previous roles as Course Leader of MA International Fashion Marketing, Course Leader of BA Fashion Design and BA Fashion Design and Marketing, and Course Leader of Foundation Design studies at Regents University London.

Prior to his academic career, he was co-founder of the luxury fashion label Vidler & Nixon which sold luxury coating and womenswear across the world including Harrods. The brand had an ongoing collaboration with textile supplier Holland and Sherry, known as the ‘Finest fabrics in the world’.

This experience heavily informs Stefan's current teaching, where he focuses on guiding students to work to industry standards and fulfill live client briefs.
