Department of Construction and Built EnvironmentSophie Brown is a Lecturer in the Department of Construction and Built Environment. Sophie specialises in Quantity Surveying with over a decade of experience in the industry.
Sophie is a Chartered Surveyor with a background working as a PQS in both private practice and Local Authorities and has worked in Edinburgh, Manchester and Glasgow. She has also worked remotely on projects in the Middle East and South America. She has previously been an APC Assessor for the RICS.
Since joining Glasgow Caledonian University full time in 2021, Sophie has obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice and gained the FHEA accreditation status with Advance HE. Her primary focus lies in pre and post contract cost control as well as an interest in innovation within learning and teaching approaches.
