Dr Sha Liang is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, School of Science and Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University. Sha joined GCU in August 2024 and is currently Module Leader for Web Application Development and Fundamentals of Network and Cloud Computing.
His research interests include software development, human-computer interaction, digital health and mixed reality. Sha holds a PhD in Computing from Sheffield Hallam University, awarded in 2018. His thesis explored how older adults interact with augmented reality.
Before joining GCU, Sha worked as a Research and Development Engineer at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland and as a Lecturer at Bournemouth University. Sha has led and contributed to UKRI-funded projects, collaborating with Siemens, NHS Highland, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, among others.
Sha is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is open to accepting PhD students for supervision in related fields.
