Ramy Sherief

Ramy is a Lecturer in Accountancy at Glasgow Caledonian University whose research examines public sector auditing of Scottish local authorities. He is currently in the final stages of completing his PhD in Accounting and Finance at the University of Glasgow. He also holds an MSc in Management Accounting and a BSc in Accounting.
Ramy has taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across several higher education institutions in the UK, Egypt, and China. His teaching portfolio includes management accounting, auditing, public sector accounting, ethics, and financial reporting.
Prior to joining GCU, he held teaching positions at the University of Glasgow for three years and at Zagazig University in Egypt for 12 years. As part of GCU’s international partnerships, he has also taught at the University of Jinan and the Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology in China.
Ramy’s research interests centre on public sector auditing, accountability, auditors’ behaviour and cost management. He regularly presents his work at international academic conferences and actively engages with professional and scholarly debates in the field.
