Technical Manager, Fashion

Department of Fashion, Marketing, Tourism and Events

Although accepted for a place at Edinburgh School of Art I made my original career in estate agency. I soon followed my heart into Fashion and, as an award winning student, I started working with Scottish Fashion Designer Spencer Railton (1995-2000). I went on to teach CAD, pattern cutting and garment construction part time at GCU as well as working for myself designing bespoke ladies and gents wear. I was then head hunted by Glasgow School of Art to teach garment construction to the Masters in Design students in 2004. This broad experience has been invaluable in helping me run the day to day aspects of the Fashion Factory at GCU since 2006. I head a team of very experienced Technicians assisting Fashion Business Students and International Fashion Business Students from their initial fashion designs through to putting their ideas in to practice. I am highly trained in the most up to date Fashion Specific CAD software Lectra, including the state of the art 3D technology.
