Dr. Octavian Niculita is a Senior Lecturer in Instrumentation with Glasgow Caledonian University. He has a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Iasi, Romania, carried out under the European Doctorate of Sound and Vibration Studies framework.

His current research interests include digital twins (design, development, deployment and management), industrial digitalization, predictive maintenance, prognostics and health management (PHM) system design, integration of PHM and asset design for aerospace, maritime, oil  and gas (surface and subsea) applications as well as infrastructure and building management services.

Octav has over ten years of experience in design and development of prognostics and health management applications, having worked on applied aerospace projects funded by The Boeing Company and BAE Systems as a Research Fellow and Technical Lead on his previous appointment with the Integrated Vehicle Health Management Centre at Cranfield University, UK.

Currently, Octav acts as the Programme Leader for the MSc Applied Data Science in Engineering.
