Ms Morag Beers

External Lecturer

Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Management

Ms Morag Beers - has a long career in international real estate after graduating from Paisley College of Technology with a degree in Land Economics and qualifying with the RICS. Her career started in direct asset management and has led through to strategic management of international portfolios. Throughout her career, she has chosen to focus on complex real estate situations with appreciation of real estate’s broader role and leadership of multi-disciplined professional teams and partnerships. Being based in Amsterdam for 20 years of her career has offered her exposure to one of the world’s most sustainability conscious real estate environments. In addition to teaching part-time at Glasgow Caledonian University on the Real Estate Honours Degree Course, Morag is interim lead for development with Albyn Housing Society in Invergordon.  She also undertakes teaching directly for the RICS and RICS affiliated Cambridge Finance in London.

Morag’s career has evolved from the initial estate management role with the City of Chester, through regional and then national development for McDonald’s Restaurants and Heineken in the UK.  From there she relocated to Amsterdam for 20 years, firstly with European wide developer, Trammell Crow Nederland (TCN), before transferring her skills to be Global Investor Relations Director with fund manager, Composition Capital Partners.  Morag had a brief return to corporate property as Global Director of Estates for VEON’s operational portfolio before returning to the UK. She is an Advisory Board Member of Impact Investor, Green Dream Company.

Morag’s experience is quite unusual in that it spans development, investment and management, from the strategic capital markets sector to the asset level corporate occupier. And similarly, her career has exposed her beyond the standard retail, office and industrial sectors into more specialist property sub-sectors including leisure, residential, hospitality, data centres, healthcare, restaurants, licensed premises, public buildings, trade marts and theatres.  Morag is a qualified RICS APC Counsellor and Past Committee Member within INREV, PREA and the RICS.
