Lorna Booth
Lecturer in Applied Psychology
Department of PsychologyLorna is a lecturer in applied psychology in the Department of Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University, teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate modules. She is a member of the Ageing Well Research Group (AWRG), PELvIC floor And Continence (Pelican) hub and Workplace Wellness Hub.
Lorna’s overall research interests involve health promotion and disease prevention through behaviour change. She has worked on a range of health-related studies, including a large NIHR evidence synthesis study looking at management strategies for treating childhood chronic constipation.
Lorna is currently supervising a PhD student who is exploring ways to support employees with chronic pain and supporting employers, from small to medium enterprises.
Her research interests include: intervention development, systematic reviews, women’s health, pelvic health, pain, physical activity, chronic illness management, health promotion and disease prevention.
