Joanna joined the Yunus Centre in 2025 as a Research Fellow on the ENGAGED Youth research project, which is funded by Horizon Europe.
Joanna’s research career has been in public health and health services research, and policy. She has worked in the health and national charity sectors and has a particular interest in the involvement and engagement of service users through participatory action research, particularly the experience-based co-design (EBCD) method for service improvement.
Joanna’s first degree was anthropology, and her doctoral research explored the impact that shadowing their patients (and their family caregivers) can have on health service professionals’ understanding of the experience of care at the end of life.
