Department of Media and JournalismJati's research focuses on newsroom fact-checking to counter disinformation during elections. In 2023, she was selected for the Greater Internet Freedom (GIF) Hate Speech Monitoring Fellowship, organised by Internews and funded by USAID.
With two decades of professional journalism experience, her key roles have included serving as newsroom manager at Metro TV, Indonesia's first 24-hour news channel. Notably, as the producer of the acclaimed Mata Najwa talk show, her work on the episode Special Prison received the Best Talk Show at the 2013 Indonesian Broadcasting Commission Awards.
Jati has represented Indonesia at global forums such as the Intermedia Dialogue in Norway, Denmark (2019), and Tunisia (2017), and she has been invited as a speaker at numerous professional and academic events in Indonesia and internationally. Recognised with Studeren in Nederland (StuNed) scholarship, she completed the International Broadcast Journalism course at the Radio Nederland Training Centre (RNTC) in the Netherlands (2006) and a refresher course in Bangladesh (2014).
