Dr Elena Dimova is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Psychology.  She teaches across the BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology, MSc Forensic Psychology and DPsych programmes in Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology and Sport and Exercise Psychology. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

Elena is an active researcher and her research focuses on understanding the relationship between identity and alcohol use, and exploring ways to reduce alcohol-related harm. Some of her research contributions include an international review of literature on men’s alcohol consumption in the context of becoming a father, a WHO-commissioned report on gender and alcohol, studies on drinking and alcohol marketing in LGBTQ+ communities, and exploring the impact of alcohol minimum unit pricing on people with experience of homelessness.
