Elaine T Anderson (BSc RGN RSCN) is a Seconded Lecturer / Practitioner for the School of Health and Life Sciences, from NHS Lanarkshire. Elaine teaches in the Department of Nursing and Community Health, covering all aspects of Children’s Nursing at undergraduate level.

Elaine began Adult Nursing in Glasgow in 1985, followed by Children's Nursing in 1990. She has been a Paediatric Nurse ever since, working in a variety of acute paediatric roles before moving to Paediatric Innovations Project work in 2000.

She was the Clinical Nurse Specialist in Children's Respiratory & Asthma for NHS Lanarkshire 2004 – 2019, working with families daily. Her passion was providing practical advice, support and communicating in a way which engaged with families, allowing self-management of long-term chronic conditions. Elaine retired from full time nursing in October 2019 - 6 months before the pandemic!

She returned to acute paediatric clinical practice in December 2019 and has worked since then in the paediatric unit and medical education departments in NHS Lanarkshire. In the last 2 years she honed her paediatric clinical skills and worked extensively with the Medical Education Team in NHS Lanarkshire developing and delivering interprofessional clinical skills learning events.

Elaine commenced her Post Graduate Studies in Autumn 2021 and is passionate about learning, as well as supporting and developing staff.
