Dawn Anderson was appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor International in 2023, and leads on development and implementation of the University’s internationalisation strategy. She is also responsible for managing the International Partnerships Office.
Dawn first joined Glasgow Caledonian as an undergraduate student, after which she spent several years working in the insurance industry as a Commercial Underwriter and Broker. She later returned to complete her Masters in Risk Management, shortly after which she took up a Lecturer post. She was a Senior Lecturer in risk for many years, with several areas of specialism including societal risk, insurance, business continuity and crisis management.
Dawn has held a number of senior international roles at Glasgow Caledonian, including Associate Dean International within the Glasgow School for Business and Society, and International Director. She has played a key role in the delivery and direction of the University’s transnational education (TNE) portfolio over the past decade.
Dawn is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Specialist Member of the Institute of Risk Management. She is currently interim chair of the Scottish Higher Education International Partnerships Group.
