David Summerhill is a Lecturer in People and Organisations, specialising in Human Resource Management, Change Management and Leadership. He serves as Programme Leader for the Graduate Apprenticeship in Business Management (HRM) and Module Leader for Developing Leadership for the Common Good (DLCG), Leading Responsible Change (LRC) and Personal and Professional Development (PPDGA).
David leads the department's Industry Engagement and Innovation activity, working closely with the Industry Advisory Group (IAG) and a wide network of external stakeholders to strengthen links between academic theory and professional practice. His industry engagement focuses on areas including Employee Value Proposition (EVP), organisational change, people management and leadership development.
His teaching and research interests centre on responsible leadership, organisational change & workforce sustainability across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He also provides academic and personal support as Level 4 Personal Tutor for students within the International Business suite.
David is GCU Alumni, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
