David Phillips

David is a Lecturer in the Department of Applied Science in the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment. David studied an MSci in Chemistry and Mathematics and a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Glasgow.

He completed his PhD in 2017 under the supervision of Dr David France. This focused on the development of new palladium-catalysed carbon–carbon bond forming reactions.

David then carried out postdoctoral work under Professor Graeme Cooke, working on ozone-sensitive dyes and organic dye-sensitised solar cells.

David moved to the University of Dundee in March 2021, where he worked in the Drug Discovery Unit. He then joined Glasgow Caledonian University as a Lecturer in Chemistry in September 2022.
