Claire Hulsen
Vice-Principal Strategy and Academic Operations
University ExecutiveClaire Hulsen is Vice-Principal for Strategy and Academic Operations at Glasgow Caledonian University, with responsibility for a number of key professional service areas and strategic engagement with the Scottish Funding Council, Scottish Government and Universities Scotland. She provides leadership for the Strategy, Planning and Insight team, Executive Support, and the Academic Registrar Directorate, supporting the University's strategic development, academic operations, performance and institutional effectiveness.
Through her leadership of strategic planning, performance management and institutional insight, Claire plays a key role in driving organisational performance and ensuring the successful delivery of the University's strategic ambitions.
Claire has extensive experience in strategic planning, student recruitment, performance monitoring, policy analysis and external insight across the UK and Scottish higher education sectors. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Sciences from the National University of Ireland, University College Dublin. Prior to joining Glasgow Caledonian University as Executive Adviser to the Principal and Vice-Chancellor, and subsequently Director of Strategy and Planning, Claire held roles at Universities Scotland and the UCD Graduate Business School.
Throughout her career, Claire has worked closely with government, higher education and further education stakeholders, contributing to a range of expert groups that have informed national policy development across a broad spectrum of strategic and sector-wide issues.
