Dr Caoimhe Ryan

Dr Caoimhe Ryan completed her PhD in Social Psychology at the University of St Andrews. She holds an MSc in Social and Cultural Psychology from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a BA in Psychology from University College Dublin (UCD). She has held research and teaching posts at universities across Scotland,  including the University of Dundee, the University of St Andrews, and the University of Glasgow.

Caoimhe is Level 1 Coordinator for the BSc Applied Psychology at GCU. She is also module leader for the BSc final year dissertation module (Psychology Empirical Project) and module leader for the Level 3 module Applied Social Psychology. Her research interests include the social psychology of prosocial behaviour and the experiences of vulnerable and minority groups.

Her work includes research on experiences of identity misrecognition amongst minorities in Europe, the experiences of people undergoing cancer treatment, and the mobilisation of public support for anti-deportation campaigns. She is a member of the Child and Adolescent Health Research Group (CAHRG).
