Bridget Bennett

PhD Student

Yunus Centre

Bridget is a PhD researcher, on a Scottish Government Hydronation scholarship, exploring how private community wastewater systems in Scotland are managed and how they can become more innovative and effective. Her research focuses on supporting rural communities to manage decentralised, off‑mains wastewater systems more sustainably by improving access to knowledge, technology, and support.

Bridget has a background in biology, sustainability studies, water management, water-reuse, and water quality. She has previously worked on funded research projects examining flood policy and flood risk preparedness, and she currently contributes to the Biopolymers in the Circular Economy (BICE) project, mapping pathways to End of Waste status for resources recovered from wastewater.
