Since joining the Yunus Centre in 2015, Jack has worked on a number of projects focussing broadly on community led organisations and their impact on health and wellbeing.

Previous projects have included CSO funded research on Mutual Aid during COVID-19, and an ESRC funded project on polarising and shared perspectives of COVID-19 using Q Methodology. Jack is currently working on CommonHealth Assets where he is heavily involved in developing the realist evaluation components of the project, among other aspects.

Jack’s PhD research, conducted at the Yunus Centre, concerned the role of Scottish work integration social enterprises (WISEs) for individuals disadvantaged in the labour market. Jack employed a Q Methodology approach to gather shared perspectives about job quality amongst those experiencing disadvantages and he tied this together with how WISEs negotiate aspects of job quality.

He currently runs the Q method Podcast and is a member of the International Society for the Scientific Study of Subjectivity. He also helps to design and deliver international Q workshops that provide training for people learning Q methodology at different stages of their careers and projects.

Prior to joining the Yunus Centre Jack achieved a BSc in Sport and Active Lifestyles Promotion and an MSc in Social Business and Microfinance, both from GCU.
