Care experienced: someone who, for any length of time and at any stage of life, has been in care (for example living with foster carers, in residential care, or in kinship care with relatives).
Carer: an individual who provides or intends to provide care for another individual. An unpaid carer could be looking after a family member, friend or neighbour who needs help. They might have an illness, disability, physical or mental health problem, or addiction.
Estranged: someone who no longer has any contact with their parents, and this is very unlikely to change.
The reason we ask you to tell us is so your Student Wellbeing Adviser can offer advice tailored to your situation, in some cases UK students in these categories may be entitled to additional funding.
To request an initial appointment with a Wellbeing Adviser, you can complete the first appointment form on this page. You will then be invited to attend a one-to-one meeting which can be via phone, online video meeting or in person.
