Elena Magli

PhD Student
Elena joined the Yunus Centre in October 2019.

Her research interests include microcredit, ethical finance, diverse and alternative economies.
Her PhD focuses on exploring the ‘alterity’ of microcredit in Scotland. Specifically, by exploring the diverse economic practices associated with responsible lenders, she wants to investigate their ‘alterity’ in the specific context of a Western country. The research project is supervised by Dr. Neil McHugh and Dr. Micaela Mazzei.

Prior to join the Yunus Centre, Elena gained a MSc in Social Business and Microfinance (Glasgow Caledonian University) and worked in an Italian microcredit institution.
