‚ÄĆAshleigh joined the Yunus Centre in October 2014 to undertake a PhD in health economics and vision science, supervised by Dr Sven Jonuscheit, Dr Helen Mason and Professor Cam Donaldson. She is conducting research in evaluating primary care services within the context of Scottish eye care, with a particular focus on the costs and benefits of local schemes for shared care of acute eye disease. This will utilise methods such as systematic review, economic evaluation and preference elicitation.

Prior to joining the centre Ashleigh graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a degree in Optometry and practiced as a community optometrist in both a city centre practice and a mobile highlands and islands role. She is also involved in teaching within the undergraduate programs in the Vision Science department.
