MSc Leadership and Management in the Manufacturing Sector
A world-leading pump technology company, ClydeUnion Pumps joined forces with GCU to launch a bespoke Masters in Leadership and Management for the Manufacturing Sector. The programme equips emerging and existing senior managers with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead contemporary manufacturing industries in a highly competitive, global environment.
Launched in 2011, this work-based programme delivers academic learning with real-world application for ClydeUnion. Managers have the opportunity to study up to Masters level, but can also take individual modules to suit their development needs. A key emphasis is placed on reflective practice which forms a critical part of the ethos of work based education.
Initially developed for ClydeUnion’s Glasgow workplace, the programme is now delivered to employees in Canada, the US, India, Singapore and China as well as throughout the UK using an innovative combination of video and online learning. Lectures are able to be delivered in real time around the world, but are also recorded, so that students can access them when it suits their schedule. Thirty-five students have gone through the programme so far and feedback has been very positive showing how successful internationalisation of learning can be.
