Marty Wright

Academic Head of School, Work Based Education
An alumni of Glasgow's three universities, also the University of London. Currently completing doctorate. Career began in nursing which created the appetite for enhancing work based practices and being able to justifying actions based on a discerning knowledge of options. Responsible for the design and delivery of bespoke, academically accredited programmes. These originate from a strong belief that an enquiring and creative workforce denotes professionalisation through qualification. Passionate that true work based education is transformative and everyone should be encouraged to work to the mantra 'I deserve credit for the good job I am doing.’ Research and scholarly activities include investigating the merit of utilising the accreditation of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Work Based Learning (WBL) as a strategy for determining if, and confirming that professionals are fit for role. Also employing personal reflection, peer assisted approaches and academic facilitation in lifelong learning. In 2014 co-wrote the Section of the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) RPL Framework that relates to Professional Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB) and Employers.
