Glasgow School for Business and Society is an excellent example of how UK business schools can deliver for the Common Good, according to an influential new report.

The Chartered Association of Business Schools has selected GSBS as a model of good practice in its taskforce report, Business Schools and the Public Good, out this week.

The Taskforce reviewed how business schools deliver public good through teaching, research, internal operations, and the ways in which they engage with the world around them.

GSBS has been used as a case study in the final report. It concludes the School is promoting the Common Good, social justice and social innovation, through its teaching, research and community engagement across all subject areas.

It highlights the work of the School's Scottish Poverty and Inequality Research Unit and how all new courses are designed to match the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and equip students to make a positive difference in their communities.

The report also outlines how the School's fashion curriculum concentrates on sustainability and emphasises the need to reuse, re-design, and recycle.

Professor John Lennon, Dean of Glasgow School for Business and Society, said: "The University’s strategic concern for public good draws on its rich history and founding purpose."
