Rob Woodward

Rob Woodward is the Chair of Court. He also chairs the Court Membership Committee and is a member of the Remuneration Committee.

Rob joined STV Group plc in March 2007 as CEO where he has led the turnaround of the company.

Prior to this, Rob was Commercial Director of Channel 4 Television Corporation and on the main board. He achieved a dramatic turnaround of legacy businesses, 4 Ventures, and built a set of successful new media and digital businesses. He transformed the performance of Channel 4's commercial businesses from heavily loss making to significant profitability.
Rob was previously an MD of UBS Warburg and global COO of corporate finance in Media and Communications. He worked initially in the global Telecom team in both London and New York and latterly was the co-head of the European Technology Group.
Prior to this he was Managing Partner of Braxton UK, Deloitte's European Telecoms Media and Technology business and UK strategy consulting practice. He also led Deloitte Consulting's European TMT group. He has specialised in advising TMT companies on strategic and corporate finance issues for the past 25 years.

Rob is a trustee of the STV Children's Appeal. Rob was appointed Chair of the Council of City, University London in February 2012, is Chairman of the technology company Blancco plc. In November 2014 Rob was appointed by the Scottish Government Chairman of the Developing Young Workforce Group, which is leading work to support employer involvement in developing Scotland's young workforce. He has also co-chaired the National Centre for University and Business work on Growing Value Scotland and until 2016 was a Trustee of Nesta.  He is also a Trustee of The Royal Television Society.  In September 2017 Rob was appointed Commissioner of the National Lighthouse Board.
