Neil Partlett

Neil PartlettNeil graduated with a Chemistry PhD, studying pharmaceutical drug chemistry, from Reading University in 1988.  This was after completing a joint honours degree in Chemistry and Food Science in 1985.  Neil is also an Alumni of London Business School.

Having started his working career at ICI, a large multinational Chemical company, Neil is now the managing Director of CalaChem Limited based in Grangemouth.  CalaChem, formerly a part of ICI, is a leading independent Scottish based chemicals company that is now owned by the Munich based Aurelius Group.

Neil is a business leader with a long track record for initiating and driving change, delivering profitable sales growth and significantly increasing shareholder value.  Having operated around the globe, particularly in SE Asia, he has worked for large multinationals, mid-sized listed and private equity backed SME organisations.  Previous leadership roles include: CEO of Wells Plastics Limited and CEO of BNL UK Ltd.

Neil is a member of a number of leadership groups representing the Chemical & Life Sciences sector in Scotland.  He has a particular interest in skills development and is involved in the national skill investment plan to increase the number of qualified young people that enter the Scottish chemicals sector.

Neil is married with two grown up children.  His leisure interests include most sports but when he has some spare time he enjoys cycling.

Neil is a member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
