Portraits of Our Chancellor

yunus-2016-v8Photographic portraits of Chancellor Professor Muhammad Yunus have been commissioned by GCU and taken by Broad Daylight’s Tricia Malley and Ross Gillespie for exhibition across the GCU campuses in Glasgow, London and New York.

The photographs have already been displayed at London’s Embassy Tea Gallery’s annual Portrait Salon and in Tokyo as part of the I / Land project at The Reminders Photography Stronghold Gallery.

Broad Daylight’s Malley and Gillespie said: “Having Professor Yunus sit for us was both a privilege and a joy.”

GCU commissioned the award-winning team, which has work in the permanent collections of The Scottish National Portrait Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery, to create two images of Chancellor Yunus. One will be on permanent display at GCU and GCU London, and a second, showing a less formal side of the Chancellor, will be displayed at GCU New York.

Jan Hulme, University Secretary and Vice Principal, said: “GCU is honoured to have Professor Muhammad Yunus as Chancellor. His life and work embody the principles GCU stands for and we commissioned these wonderful portraits as emblematic of GCU’s international profile as the University for the Common Good.”
