What’s involved?
The College Connect Team provides support and advice to articulating HNC/HND students making the transition from partner colleges to GCU. We aim to provide focused interventions and support to ensure that college students applying to GCU have the resources to gain the maximum benefit from their university studies. GCU staff and student mentors offer support in colleges and at GCU as part of the University’s early induction programme. Our activities aim to raise awareness of articulation routes, give students information about our degree programmes and provide support to help ease the transition to university.
How will participating in this activity/opportunity allow students to make a positive difference to the communities that we serve?
Student mentors act as role models and GCU ambassadors, delivering a wide range of activities to increase the confidence, core skills and life-long learning aspirations of young people and help college students with the transition to GCU or higher education. Many of the college student participants are now successfully studying at GCU, some becoming student mentors themselves and working with the next cohort of college applicants.
What are the benefits of taking part in this activity/opportunity for participating students?
