A happy marriage

GCU tied the knot with one of Scotland's most successful wedding venues to encourage international guests to explore Scotland and boost the country’s tourism industry. Researchers are working with Argyll’s Crear House to develop the wedding tourism market in a £187,000 partnership.

It is hoped they can encourage the thousands of international guests travelling to Scotland for weddings to extend their stay from an average of four days to two weeks.

There are fantastic opportunities for research to demonstrate tourism opportunities for businesses across rural Scotland. Our challenge is to extend our clients’ stay. The expertise of the Moffat Centre for Travel and Tourism Business Development, combined with the academic expertise in the wider business school, is simply not available anywhere else.
