COVID-19 response

The coronavirus pandemic had an unparalleled impact across the world and the University rallied to support the country’s crisis response and help our local communities in a year like no other.

As the University for the Common Good, our sense of purpose, clear vision and commitment to living our values were fundamental to our successful response to the prolonged crisis which impacted on every aspect of our lives and work at GCU.

That swift and united reaction was recognised by Times Higher Education, which named us one of eight UK institutions best positioned to meet the challenges thrown up by the pandemic. We were one of just two Scottish institutions shortlisted for the DataPoints Merit Award in this year’s THE Awards, which celebrated the universities best placed to face the challenges of COVID-19.
