Calling out racism

Advance HE's Declaration on Anti-Racism

We joined universities across Scotland pledging their support to Advance HE's Declaration on Anti-Racism.

Principal Professor Pamela Gillies CBE FRSE joined the Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science, Richard Lochhead, Scottish Funding Council's Donna MacKinnon, and speakers from across the sector in a webinar sharing their commitment to the declaration and uniting against racism.

The event was part of the Scottish Funding Council-backed Tackling Racism on Campus Project which is helping Scottish universities and colleges respond to the shocking findings of an Equality and Human Rights Commission inquiry which reported on the scale of racial harassment in Britain's universities.

Racism exists on our campuses and in our society. Call it what it is and reject it in all its forms. We stand united against racism. Call it racism, challenge racist behaviour, change racist structures.
