Anne O'Grady

Anne O’Grady received a Doctor of the University in recognition of her outstanding contribution to early-years education and widening access through her championing of GCU’s Caledonian Club.

A headteacher and teacher in Glasgow’s schools for more than 40 years, Anne is committed to widening access to education for all children, regardless of their economic background, and is a leading partner and long-term supporter of GCU’s flagship widening access initiative The Caledonian Club.

This university wrapped its arms around the city's most vulnerable families in the form of the Caledonian Club, inviting thousands of children and families in and reaching into their community and breaking down the myths that arise around who is able to go on to higher education.
