Alumna Isatou Njai was the face of innovation in a TV commercial celebrating Scotland’s entrepreneurs.
Isatou – co-creator of Baotic, a gut-health promoting drink made from the African superfruit baobab – starred in Summit: Celebrating Scottish Entrepreneurship, an STV and Entrepreneurial Scotland initiative showcasing Scotland’s innovators, visionaries and game-changers.
Susan Mitchell joined GCU as our first Chief Operating Officer. Susan joined us from the University of the West of Scotland.
The institution is at a very exciting stage in its development and the recent installation of Dr Annie Lennox as Chancellor is an inspiration to believe we can achieve great things. I am looking forward to working with the Principal, the Executive team and the wider University community and I am excited at the prospect of what we will achieve together.
We welcomed Professor Kate Pickett, co-author of The Spirit Level – A New Statesmen Top Ten Book of the Decade – to the campus. Professor Pickett, Professor of Epidemiology at the University of York, outlined how tackling poverty and inequality would enrich all of Scottish society in the 2018 Challenge Poverty Week Lecture, co-hosted by our Scottish Poverty and Inequality Research Unit.
