Hundreds of nurses who had left the NHS returned to the wards, thanks to our programme that recruits nurses and midwives back to the profession.

Responding to forecasts highlighting the shortage of nursing staff, we developed the Return to Practice programme to refresh the skills of nurses and midwives who had taken a career break. To date, more than 300 have successfully completed the 16-week programme, which is funded by the Scottish Government and is now being replicated by other universities.

The British School of Fashion launched the world’s first MSc Fashion and Lifestyle Marketing. The programme, designed with industry experts and professional bodies, ensures students graduate with skills that match the requirements of fashion businesses.

New Chair of Court Rob Woodward met students during his first week at the University. Rob joined GCU from STV, where he was chief executive officer.
