Murray Rowden

Murray Rowden, who was awarded an honorary Doctor of Engineering, leads Turner and Townsend’s business in eight countries and supports its teams in growing the business in its other regions as its Global Head of Infrastructure.

Murray joined the multinational professional services company in 1990 after graduating from GCU, where he studied Quantity Surveying, and he has worked in its Glasgow, Leeds, Amsterdam, London and New York bases in roles including leading the UK infrastructure sector business unit.

Committed to contributing to the development of the industry, Murray has been International Chairman of industry improvement body Constructing Excellence and worked with government and industry in Asia, Australia, Canada and the UK on developing industrial strategies and improvement initiatives.

An advocate for the University, Murray joined honorary graduates Sir Alex Ferguson and Harry Benson at GCNYC to mark its inaugural academic year.
