Marie Macklin CBE

Entrepreneur Marie Macklin CBE received an honorary doctorate of Business Administration in recognition of her contribution to business and the common good.

Marie, who was named Scottish Business Woman of the Year in 2017, drives the Halo project in Kilmarnock, a £65m regeneration of the former Diageo bottling plant, which will create up to 1400 jobs.

Committed to the development of young people, Marie supports entrepreneurship in schools, colleges and arts and community organisations, and, with the Association of Scottish Business Women, developed Women in Enterprise to support women entrepreneurs.

Marie is a Patron of social enterprise Centre Stage and is on the board of the Scottish Property Federation and the Economic Leadership Board for Glasgow City Council.
