Making the case for sustainable fashion

In a ground-breaking move, Glasgow Caledonian New York College (GCNYC) was awarded degree-granting status − the first foreign higher education institution in New York to achieve this. The campus is offering a portfolio of research-based Masters programmes in business and fashion with a core focus on sustainability and ethical business.

The work is underpinned by the Fair Fashion Center at GCNYC which, by working in partnership with the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, is examining the business case for sustainability in the fashion industry.

When considering the impact the fashion supply chain has on other industries - from farming and manufacturing to transportation, real estate and waste management - there are many distinct but entangled elements that must evolve together to create an industry that supports people, planet and profits.
