Entrepreneurship and the Circular Economy
This module will introduce the student to Entrepreneurship, in the context of the circular ecomomy, in seeking to retain the value of material resources within the economic cycle for as long as possible. The module is designed to encourage innovation, in the student, through the introduction to basic business skills, research, and decision making. The module is designed for team working, so will also deliver team building skills, report writing (a business case) and presentation skills. Global consumption continues to grow, and with the full environmental cost of primary materials, realised in the economy, materials too readily end up as waste, which will explain and provide insight into the relationship organisations have with material resources consumed and what practices might be adopted to embed circular economy thinking into mainstream business practice. It will enable students to be more confident in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment and able to cope with decision making within teams.
This module will include a team building weekend outwith the university.
