Why did you choose your programme at Glasgow Caledonian?

The fact that I did so well at college inspired me to think about university, after all that had been my lifelong dream. For my particular subject, the choice was between Glasgow Caledonian and another university but, after visiting both, my mind was made up. The modernity, the reputation and the vast array of facilities were all contributing factors but it was the welcoming students who gave me a tour of the campus that swayed my vote. They seemed so happy studying here and couldn’t have sold it more – I wanted some of what they were getting!

What are you enjoying most about life at the university?

Learning new skills, the opportunities away from my studies and most of all meeting new friends.

What are you enjoying most about your programme?

Learning something new each day. It may be a cliché, but when studying tourism on an international level, it is inevitable. Also, I like the flexibility of my course as the choice of options allows you to branch into other areas.

What advice do you have for people considering applying to the university?

Don’t doubt yourself! I’ve had an amazing time at university and I’m the perfect example of how you don’t necessarily need to be a top class student at school to achieve your goals.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?

There are so many choices after graduating that I’ve not made my final decision yet. Having said that, working within the airport sector of the travel industry is definitely something that appeals to me - the whole ‘hustle and bustle’ of the airport gives me goosebumps!
