For teachers, lecturers and careers advisers, we have a team of staff providing a liaison service to schools and colleges. We can offer general Higher Education guidance as well as information specific to Caledonian. Here are our main channels of support:
We run a wide range of talks to support Higher Education guidance programmes in schools and colleges, including an Introduction to Higher Education, our programmes and facilities, the UCAS application process, student lifestyle, and finance & funding.
We can also arrange tailor made presentations for individual schools or year groups. For further details on what we can do for you contact us.
Events for careers advisers
During May we organise our annual on-campus events for advisers from schools, FE colleges and Careers Scotland, which provide up-to-date information on our programme developments and provide the opportunity for you to view first hand our departments and on-campus facilities. The sessions are run over three weeks with presentations from staff in each of our academic schools.
Open days & evenings
These events have proved highly popular with students – helping them make good decisions when choosing a university and programme of study. To give them an in-depth experience of our campus, we hold a number of these open days throughout the year. Students can meet university staff and view Caledonian’s unique range of facilities.
To promote a broader awareness of the university, our team regularly attends a number of UCAS Regional Careers Conventions across the UK and Ireland.
We also support a number of careers events hosted by individual schools and Further Education colleges throughout the academic year. If you would like to arrange for a representative to attend one of your school or college events, please contact the Schools Liaison Office.
