The Magnusson Fund offers awards of up to £5,000, supported by donors including Sir Alex Ferguson and Santander. You can apply to do literally anything, anywhere in the world. The sky is the limit!

Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone! 

We are looking to hear from GCU students with BIG ambitions who want to step out of their comfort zone to explore, learn, help others, and have new life experiences.

Who can apply 

We are currently accepting applications from GCU students in their second year upwards, or researchers in the early stages of their academic careers. 

Applications close Thursday 20  February 2020 5pm GMT 

*If you are shortlisted, you will be informed by email and will be required to present your proposal to the Magnusson Panel which will take place around the end of March 2020. If you are successful in receiving an award, you will be required to attend the Magnus Magnusson Awards Ceremony which is likely to take place in May 2020.


Terms and conditions

Magnusson Fund awards cannot be used for tuition fees or the cost of placements which are part of your studies or course

Awards from the Magnusson Fund are open to students in their second year upwards, and to researchers in the early stages of their academic careers.

You are required to timeously provide an end of project report including a variety of photographs which capture the essence of your project (to be used for internal and external publicity), and that you will reasonably be expected to take part in activities relating to publicity for the Fund and its impact, for example, attendance at Magnusson Awards ceremony/ thank you letter to donor
