Summary of Content

Completion of the learner's understanding of the language. Improvement of advanced communication skills in the language and the ability to respond appropriately in the language. Introduction to current developments relevant to contemporary issues of the countries where the language is spoken.

Syllabus

Completion of the learner's understanding of the language system. Improvement of the learner's ability to perform advanced communication skills in the language when spoken at near native speed and to respond appropriately in the accomplishment of a series of pre-determined tasks. Introduction to current developments relevant to contemporary issues of the countries where the language is spoken.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this Module the student should be able to:- write accurately at greater length in the language to convey essential information about a range of general and specific topics;- understand the language over this range of topics when spoken at near native speed and respond as required;- discuss this range of topics with greater fluency and in greater depth;

Teaching / Learning Strategy

Teaching is theme based and classroom activities, which are student-centred, consist mainly of group work. Teaching is a mixture of classroom and laboratory sessions. Most classes are conducted in the target language.
