Summary of Content

The Entrepreneurial Leadership course seeks to empower students with mindsets and skills essential for success as a self-starting individual with the capability to lead themselves, engage with others, create impactful solutions in the communities they live in, and create positive impact and transformation in Africa. In this module, students will engage with building an awareness and begin understanding how to engage with self and others. In addition, students will explore fundamental principles of emotional intelligence and see how they correlate to the development of an entrepreneurial leader.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students should be able to:1). Understand the importance of self-awareness, and apply self-awareness to their lives2). Understand the importance and application of proactivity and responsibility3). Comprehend the significance of socail awareness and empathy4). Identify and validate problems

Teaching / Learning Strategy

This module will provide students with a foundation in building skills in leading self, engaging others, and entrepreneurial thinking. A blended learning approach will be used to engage students in the module content. Students will be introduced to concepts and strengthen their knowledge of these concepts through facilitated classroom sessions. Students will engage in individual self-work content, published on the online learning environment. Students will further deepen their understanding of the module through peer learning. Students will receive further support during weekly Office Hours sessions with facilitators.
