Entry requirements 

The University accepts a variety of qualifications for entry to our courses. Simply send us copies of your grades and we can assess the equivalence we would consider these and subsequently advise on the best route for you to join us on your programme of choice. Contact international@gcu.ac.uk with details of your qualifications.

Below are some of the international qualifications we regularly accept. Hopefully, these are a guide to the scores we would be looking for in your education system. All entry requirements listed here should be used as a guide and represent the minimum required to be considered for entry. Please refer to the relevant programme pages for essential subject requirements and grade ranges. Advanced entry is only possible where qualification aligns with the course.

Undergraduate

  • A-Level: BCC
  • International Baccalaureate: 25 points
  • USA High School Diploma with 2.7-3.0 GPA, plus one of the following:
    • SAT score of 1500 minimum (pre March 2016)
    • SAT score of 1000 minimum (post March 2016)
    • ACT score of 24
    • APs - 2x Advanced Placements at minimum grade 3
    • SAT Subject Tests - 2x SAT Subject Tests at minimum score of 500
    • For some programmes across our academic schools, we will require ACT or SAT combined with AP’s or SAT subject tests at higher grades or in specific subjects.

Postgraduate

Postgraduate applicants will typically require a 2:2 honours bachelor degree (UK system) or a Bachelors degree with 2.7 GPA (USA system) in a related subject area.

English language requirements

To study at the University you must also provide evidence of your English language ability. For further information on the University’s English language requirements, please click here.

Further details of Accepted English language qualifications are available for students requiring to evidence their English language ability. Students who wish to join a programme with a higher English language requirement must provide a SELT result/certificate as evidence of English.
