Entry requirements 

Undergraduate

  • All courses in the Glasgow School for Business and Society (GSBS) require 333 for level 1 standard entry
  • All courses in the School of Engineering, Computing and Built Environment (SECBE) require 333 for level 1 standard entry
  • All courses in the School of Health and Life Sciences (SHLS) require 333 as standard for level 1 entry and 332 for Clearing with the exception of the following:
    • Optometry – 443
    • Applied Psychology - 433
    • Physiotherapy – 443
    • Nursing (BSc) – 33
    • Social Work - 332
  • Please note: Subject-specific requirements for SHLS still remain, such as those courses that require a science at HKDSE.

Postgraduate taught

  • UK 2.2 honours degree or equivalent

English language requirements

For programmes requiring an IELTS 6 with no element below 5.5 (or equivalent), we accept Level 4 in the HKDSE English Language. For programmes requiring an IELTS 6.5, we accept Level 5 in the HKDSE English Language.

Further details of English language requirements are available. Students who wish to join a programme with a higher English language requirement must provide a SELT result/certificate as evidence of English.

Alumni ambassadors

GCU has alumni ambassadors around the world who kindly volunteer to provide current or prospective students with practical advice on what to expect when they arrive at GCU and how to make the most of their time at university.  

Furthermore, the ambassadors are a point of contact for GCU alumni based overseas and can offer useful tips on settling into a new country or setting up an event or networking opportunity. 

We have a number of alumni ambassadors from South East Asia.

There are many ways that you can find out about studying at Glasgow Caledonian University. The Enquiries Office is open from Monday to Friday from 9:30am until 4:30pm, and is closed on Saturday and Sundays.
